An early quality 1957 version reflective of period wartime insignia, in silvered zinc, the obverse with an oval oak leaf wreath with a ribbon on the bottom, topped by a Luftwaffe style German national eagle, with a cloud towards the top and a lightning bolt striking the ground, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 43. 03 mm (w) x 56. 86 mm (h), weighing
